STATE BUDGET REVENUES KEEP GROWING AT 16% LEVEL THIS YEAR, TAX CHIEF SAYS
The steady growth of State Budget revenues in 2023 remains at the level of 16%, State Tax Service (STS) Director Petru Rotaru stated on Tuesday evening on the Vocea Basarabiei TV channel. In his words, by the end of this year the STS will administer State Budget revenues at the level of 62 billion lei.
“Compared to 2022, the State Budget revenues have increased by more than 3.7 billion lei,” Rotaru said.
Touching upon the issue of tax evasion by economic agents, the STS Director said that this year the Service has reduced the number of tax audits of business entities by 50%, while increasing the visits of tax inspectors.
According to him, thanks to the visits of tax inspectors, the amount of additional payments to the Budget has increased by 500 million lei since the beginning of 2023.
When asked about the percentage of tax evasion in the Republic of Moldova, Petru Rotaru said that various expert presume it is about 10-15% of GDP.
Touching upon the issue of mandatory issuance of cash register receipts to customers, Rotaru noted that in Moldova there are areas where the use of cash registers and the issuance of receipts by sellers to customers reach 70-80%, but there are also those in which this figure is at 50%.
